Indie Guitars

About Indie:

The name 'Indie' comes from the word 'Independent'….

'Indie' was originally a name given to small independent record labels in the UK and then subsequently became a name given to the style of music played by 'cool' guitar influenced bands.

In musical terms Indie music is always changing and developing.. Always guitar based or influenced.
… Always fiercely Independent.

We at Indie manufacture our guitars and amplifiers with this same Independent belief. Our products are aimed at a musician who wants a 'quality' instrument that plays well, looks cool and is affordable. Our customer base is usually an Indie (Independent) type person… a musician or individual that is free of mind and chooses not to follow the masses! … a guitarist with a bit of attitude.

It is a great gigging guitar and looks absolutely stunning in a guitar stand at home!

Sound wise... A grade woods have been used for the top (Spruce or Cedar) and a top quality rosewood for the back and sides - all this adds to a stunning acoustic sound.. and then plug it in! .. and the same sound is amplified using our top of the range Indie Artec EQ System.
This guitar has been improved since it was first introduced  A better EQ System and a modern
It plays beautifully and is a guitar that you will own for a life time!

Visually stunning isn't it!!
Dao is probably the most beautiful wood that we use in our factory
.

The unique properties of Dao wood produce a really subtle tone... this is not a guitar to give you massive volume - but it will give you a stunning light and pure acoustic sound.
It is a great guitar to sing with as it does not over power the voice.. rather it blends with you.
It particularly likes to be finger picked! .. it just seems to flow with lightness!

Ok.. So why the sound holes, because it can't be just for show??

This is a factual concept that works... and you can test this on your existing or any acoustic guitar. (Please excuse our obvious descriptions).

Start be picking the low E string and by touching the area of your guitar at the same place where we position our sound holes. You will feel the body top of the guitar vibrating!.. This is normal!.
Now strum all six strings.. doesn't matter if you play a chord or not. ....
Well, you may have already noticed that on many acoustic guitars, especially low priced ones, that the high (treble) tones seem to be more distinctive. That's because the high tones are travelling out of the soundhole faster.... as high tones travel faster and more directly than the low bass tones.

The Indie Sound holes allow some of the Bass tones to get out earlier producing a very well balanced tone! You can test this by covering the holes!

That's not all.... as we also use a breathable wood for the sides of the guitar, thus helping some of the sound to travel through....this can be both heard and felt while playing
We have also lacquered the inside of the back of the guitar?.. this forces the sound waves back towards the front of the guitar and out of the holes faster... making the guitar very responsive.

With a Jumbo body size and very simple ideas we have created a real gem that is great for those unplugged acoustic nights or a buskers dream.
its loud and balanced and competes with guitars valued at three times the price! ..
